She just did not stick out to me personally when I remember the series. But I do love how she stuck by Chuck’s side. Chuck and her’s relationship is why she made it so high.

When they first meet, Vanessa is rude to Nate; as she thinks he is stuck up. However, she opens one of the study books he gives them and finds a practice essay he wrote on the struggle of constantly being in the middle of his parents. After reading the essay, she invites him out for Greek food and they bond while eating together.

Realizing his mistake, Dan and Vanessa reconcile and resume their relationship. Hoping to confirm on whether or not Dan had slept with Serena and if he still had residual feelings for her, Vanessa and Juliet steal Serena’s phone. Vanessa happily finds out that Dan loves her and discovers that Juliet was responsible for another blast against Serena, one stating that she was soliciting sex for grades. Fearing backlash against her, Juliet frames Vanessa for the blast, causing Vanessa to leave and effectively ending her relationship with Dan.
He was most interesting when he was grappling with his inherent privilege and trying to do the right thing instead. Blair Waldorf – She was the very main character of Gossip Girl. Despite being a bitch throughout the show and trash-talking everyone, her heart is clean and her “hatred” is only on her tongue. Yes, Nate had a moment with Ivy, before he realized who she really was and what she was doing in their world. They picked the writer character and gave him a creepy/sweet reason for stalking Serena for a decade and called it a day. What started as a juicy teen drama descended so far into camp that there was no getting out, so they leaned in. Once the Titanic has hit the iceberg, you don’t bother about whether or not the engine’s running. Nate’s not-so-thinly-veiled allusions to JFK Jr. remain intact until the very end. The whole tension throughout the early portion of Gossip Girl’s ending is whether Chuck will be a free man. His father, Bart Bass, had tried to kill him, failed, and gotten confronted by Chuck. In the penultimate episode, the two men fought, and eventually, Bart toppled over the side of the building. He managed to hold on long enough to ask Chuck to save him in front of Blair.

In Remains of the J, Nate breaks up with Vanessa due to him feeling things have come to a natural end. Thinking he dumped her for Blair, she teams up with Chuck Bass to get revenge. At Jenny’s Sweet Sixteen party, they stage a kiss in front of Nate and Blair. Nate becomes disappointed with Vanessa, and asks if that’s her way of becoming more like Blair. Regarding the direction of her character as the show progressed to its fourth season, Vanessa received negative reviews from critics.
